Right now FM does not have Mac support so if you play on a Mac there is an older version you can use right here. FM Version 5.0.3 Which plays the game almost identical to playing it on gamecube. FM Version 4.4 the one that people mostly use.
Or Just dolphin which is the emulation program of the nintendo gamecube. Some people will drive 3-4 hours to play at one event and this gets rid of all of that. Even the top players are starting to go to online because there is less of a hassle playing online then it is going to a local tournament. There is a huge community right now that is currently playing SSBM right now.
